I have been working in education since 2000 and have been working at Roxhill since 2010. I love that I've been able to be a part of the Roxhill community for so long. It makes me so happy to see my kindergarten students grow up and become amazing young folks. Some things I like to do when I'm not at school are read, play guitar, listen to music, watch (and talk about) baseball, and travel. - Mr. Popelka

I have been working in education since 1987 and have been at Roxhill since 2006. I was a Classroom Teacher for 20 years (and taught every grade K-5), school-based Literacy Coach for 2 years, Head Teacher for 2 years, and am now in my 12th year as a Librarian. Both of my children (now 24 and 27) attended Roxhill from PreK through 5th grade, so my Roxhill association actually began in 2002 when daughter began preschool at Roxhill. I treasure times when I can see them as they both now live out-of-state, I enjoy traveling in general, and I love getting in my daily 10,000 steps. - Mr. Robert ("Ro-Bear")

I have been working in education since 2006 and have been working at Roxhill Elementary since 2014 and at Genesee Hill Elementary since 2025. I believe that social emotional skills are vital to the success of our children. Getting to see students grow into kind, empathetic, problem solvers, gives me confidence in future generations. When I am not at school, I enjoy being outside in nature! Whether that means gardening, camping, traveling, or just floating down a river. I also love ultimate frisbee and traveling. -Ms. Amber

I have been working in education since 2016 and have been teaching at Roxhill Elementary since 2025. As a kid, I hardly saw my Filipino culture represented in curriculum, so I believe it is important for students to see themselves represented in the books and media we use at school, as well as for students to learn about and respect other's cultures and identities. Racial equity has been at the forefront of my practice and I strive to do everything in my power to make sure all students are welcomed at school and receive a high quality education filled with joy and growth. In my free time I love reading, traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with friends/family. - Ms. Sorenson
