Teacher Appreciation Week
Thank you Roxhill families and students for making our teachers and staff feel appreciated last week with your thoughtful cards and flowers! We are so grateful for their hard work and dedication and it is extra special when our community comes together to show them how much we all care.

Festival of Lights
Please join us for our Roxhill Festival of Lights on Thursday, May 12th from 5:30-7:00 on Zoom. We will kick the evening off with a celebration of student art and music before attending a cooking show from a Roxhill community member. Families can choose between learning how to make Pecan Candy with Mr. Robert or Enchiladas with Minerva Perez-Cortes. If you would like to cook alongside your chef, you can find the recipes.
You will also receive a hard copy of the recipes in your student’s backpack. We will end the night with a raffle!
Gift cards for ingredients are available. Please reach out to Amber Macomber email@example.com if you are interested. We hope to see you there!

Yearbook Suggested Donations
For a second year in a row, Friends of Roxhill is publishing a yearbook. They were such a hit last year—we are making sure that every student receives a copy this year!
If you have the means, please consider making a donation to Friends of Roxhill to cover the cost of a yearbook for your student and possibly a friend. The cost to print each yearbook is $15.
Friends of Roxhill participates in the PayPal Giving Fund, which means 100% of your online donation goes to the school.
Thank you for helping to cover the cost of this fun keepsake!
The Roxhill Learning Garden
Things are getting very busy in the Roxhill garden! Last week, our parent volunteers worked with students to plant seeds in the raised vegetable beds. Students helped create a list of STAR expectations to Stay safe, Try, Act responsibly and Respond with kindness when visiting the garden, especially when using tools and interacting with wild life. We played a fun seed matching game and each class planted a different fruit or vegetable. We will have another weekend work party to lay down wood chips, set up some seating and make signs on Saturday, May 21 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Please RSVP here so we know how many people to expect
