What services are offered to students?
The Roxhill School-Based Health Center (SBHC) is a full service health clinic that provides physical and mental health care for the students of Roxhill Elementary School. The Health Center is operated by Neighborcare Health and partially supported by the Families and Education Levy and the City of Seattle. The SBHC is staffed by a Nurse Practitioner, a Mental Health Counselor, and the Health Coordinator.
    • Services offered at the Roxhill School-Based Health Center include:
    • Evaluation and treatment of common health problems
    • Preventive health care
    • Immunizations
    • Individual and group therapy
    • Coordination of care with community providers
    • Community and school-based referrals
    • Family coordination to establish health care home
    • Insurance eligibility and enrollment assistance.
    • Crisis intervention
    • Health promotion and health education
    • Issues we commonly address include: depression, stress, relationship issues, grief and loss, trauma recovery, problem-solving, working on goals, AND MUCH MORE
We help students do better in school by working to solve physical and mental health problems, preventing serious illness, and promoting healthy lifestyles. Neighborcare Health is committed to creating a health care home and encouraging long-term relationships between patients and providers that include medical, dental and mental health care. Our goal is to provide care to students and families who have difficulty accessing services and not to duplicate services already being provided outside of school.
If you are not a Neighborcare patient, you may keep your existing doctor and still access our services. Your insurance or eligibility with another clinic will not be affected. We will communicate with your current doctor regarding any services we provide.

How can students use the Roxhill School-Based Health Center?
Register! Any student enrolled at Roxhill Elementary School can be seen by our providers by having a parent or guardian complete and sign the registration forms and return them to the health center. They can either be delivered by the student or parent, or placed in a secure envelope and mailed to the school (Attn: SBHC). The registration forms are available in the health center.

    What is the cost?
No student will be denied services due to inability to pay. Because the Families and Education Levy covers only a portion of the cost to operate the Roxhill School-Based Health Center, we bill insurance companies when possible. For students on Medicaid or a public insurance plan, we bill all services directly and the student/family will have no out-of-pocket expense. For students with private insurance, it is possible that parents/guardians may have some out-of-pocket cost, depending on the type of services and on the private insurance company’s coverage. Not all services are subject to insurance company policies, so please call if you would like more information. Lab services for non-confidential care are billed to the student’s private insurance by LabCorp.
Neighborcare Health can assist uninsured or underinsured students and their families with insurance enrollment and have staff members who can help with families directly. If a student or family is in need of health care services, including dental care, we have staff available to help. Please call the school-based clinic for more information or email sbhceligibility@neighborcare.org.
We look forward to seeing you!
